ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE STUDY TOUR TO EXETER, UK 2018

2018-06-30

Between 30 June and 15 July 2018 thirty Ko Lui Secondary School students travelled to Exeter in the UK to study English at Globe Language School; and to stay in local home stay accommodation. Exeter is a lovely, historical market town, famous for its beautiful cathedral and its close proximity to world heritage sites such as Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge and many more. The students’ interesting and exciting programmes were quite full. It included a mix of English classes and project work, numerous excursions to places of historical interest and social activities with students from around the world. The study tour aimed to stimulate students’ interest in English through exposure to the language in an authentic cultural milieu in a lively, attractive setting. It also aimed to foster personal development and independence. Participation in diverse, well organized and carefully planned activities, as well as interaction with the local English people and international students, gave KLSS students the opportunity to not only improve their English language skills, but also to increase their self-confidence and develop a broader global perspective and understanding.
